The replay of the second-last installment of our 2020 Tungsten MySQL Use Case webinar series is now available to watch on-demand:
Geo-Scale Five9s MySQL: Worldwide Roaming Access for Millions of Mobile Phones
Cloud-Based Active/Active Tungsten MySQL Clusters @ Knowroaming
Watch this presentation by Continuent CEO Eero Teeerikorpi on geo-distributed active/active MySQL clusters for Telco providers, and on how to cost-effectively provide worldwide mobile roaming access with cloud-based Tungsten MySQL clusters.
KnowRoaming is a Telco provider that specializes in mobile roaming, i.e. complete connectivity solutions in 200+ countries and territories, offering a cost-effective, and reliable way for travelers to stay connected while traveling across the globe.
They needed multiple active sites due to the continuous expansion of their payment system, which processes transactions worldwide. In addition, the business desired to leverage read/write splitting to distribute the load within their MySQL cluster, without any modification to their application.
Before Continuent Tungsten Clustering, KnowRoaming was using Galera clusters but understood they could not achieve geo-distributed, multi-site, and multi-primary MySQL using Galera and synchronous replication.
We still have one more use case topic that will be covered during this series, which we invite you to join, as follows:
